03/23/13 is D Day!
Today, I celebrate my 23rd birthday for the 11th time! That is to say, today marks the 33rd anniversary of my coming into this beautiful world! Today, I celebrate my Personal New Year and remember the things that I've always wanted to achieve so that I can remind myself to keep going for the things I've been working hard for and to start going for the things I've always wanted to work on but never really got to. Today, I remind myself of the things that truly make me happy. Today, I will remind myself of the things I should be thankful for. Today, I make a toast to my life and all the wonderful gifts God has given me throughout the years! Today, I celebrate my parents, my family, my friends, my students-- my loved ones all! Today, I celebrate myself! Today is my day!
I've always considered March 23 a very nice day not just because it is my birthday, but also because of the combination 3-2-3. I can't really explain it, but I just really like the combination. And then, in the early days of this year, my brother, Adom, sent me a text message telling me how special this year's March 23 will be, most specially, for me. Apparently, I am not the only member of the family who likes analyzing the combinations of numbers from dates and/or mobile phone numbers and assigning meanings, even the weirdest ones, to these combinations or numbers. Anyway, here's how his text message went:
Interesting fact about your birthday this year.
You will be 33 years old?
On your birthday, there will be triple 3 - 03/23/2013.
If you add 20 and 13, it's 33.
This year, I think 33 is a lucky number...
Just a thought. Good day...
So, there you go! This day is surely going to be special! I am looking forward to enjoying every second of it! I am not going to entertain bad thoughts or bad vibes today! I am resolved to stay positive throughout the day, and eventually throughout the year! "Everything positive," my UP friends and I used to say. Today, I will be exactly that! In every aspect, too. :)
I always love the earliest hours of my birthday because, to me, these hours define what kind of day I'd be having. And, normally, I'd just smile and think happy thoughts the whole time so that my day would be full of smiles and happy thoughts! That's always been my practice, even when I was but a child. I think it was my mom who told me that when one's birthday comes, one is not supposed to feel bad or grumpy about anything because doing that would surely ruin the whole year. One has to decide to stay happy. That's when it all started. From that time on, and it has continued to this day, I'd always go out of my way to be extra happy and positive the whole day of March 23 every year. And, it has so far proven quite effective. This also proves that, to be happy, one has to decide to be happy. It is a matter of choice.
Today, as always, I choose to be happy and positive! A few negative thoughts may escape, but I will choose not to entertain them. I will make sure that I only get to see people I like and that I only get to do things I like. I guess anyone deserves that on his/her birthday, right?
I just want to be happy and positive today (and in the coming days) and I want to infect the world with the same happiness and optimism I am wrapping myself in! And, whoever wants to ruin that, God help him/her, I will smother him/her with pink hearts and balloons! Hahaha! :)
Reading a beautiful and very touching note the moment (12:00 am) my birthday came was a happy treat that sealed my day and assured me of happy hours, days, months, and years! Thank you so much, dearest Hany, for that and everything else! I thank God everyday, especially today, because He gave me such a good person as best friend! *myahugs!*
I'd like to share the note that made me smile and will continue to make me smile. Here it is:
