Pre-2013 Thoughts

Hi-llo, readers! It's that time of the year again! The end has come yet again! We only have two days left of 2012 and I'm very excited for 2013 to start. I've said it once and I'm going to say it again, what kind of year the coming year will be really depends on us. If we want the year to be a good and happy one, we just have to decide to be happy and strive to have a good year. No amount of round fruits on the table or polka dot-wearing will ensure us of monetary luck if we don't do our part to earn some money throughout the year! And, please! No amount of jumping up and down will make us taller if we are past our 18th year (or is it 21st?)! Ha! I'm not saying that these practices and other ones like these should be ignored or something, I'm just saying that we can't just rely on these things alone to ensure us a better year. It really is up to us! So, let's, everybody, pray for and decide to have a better, happier and more meaningful 2013! Cheer

Hard Times... and a Little Surprise!

I'm back! I'm back! I'm back! So much has happened since my last entry, a whole semester has passed since! A very busy one at that! Our college has a new set of officials (dean, assistant dean, and secretary), and since the past few months were the first for this new leadership, there's been a lot of adjustment and so many things to do. It has been great so far! I'm looking forward to greater times for our college, and most especially for our students. They are, after all, the most important people in the College if you ask me; thus they should be our top priority. Being the chairperson of the Committee on Student Affairs , I am tasked to make sure that is the case. Oh, well, anyway, I don't really want to talk about my job at the moment. *** So, what's been going on with me lately? Well, lots of things have come and passed. Things, both good and bad! In fact, very recently, our university has been beset by things so dreadful and unimaginable that e

Summer's done! I can't believe it! Where have the days gone? Haha! It's amazing how summers feel shorter and shorter as one ages. I remember when I was a kid, summer used to last a loooong time! And then, High School came, summers became shorter. And then, college and so on! Now, summer feels like just a few days. So much to do, so little time! I guess that explains it.  So, what have I been up to the whole summer vacation? Well, I didn't take summer classes for MA and neither did I handle summer classes in the Department or in the Pre-University Center. So, I got to relax the whole summer. Relax and reflect. I didn't go out as much I am used to, which, I think, was good for me. I basically stayed home and read. And, watched a LOT of Glee ! I've been watching the series since 2009, religiously downloading episodes week after week after week. And, this summer, I got to watch all the episodes all over again and I got to go back to my favorite musical numbers d

Summer!!!

Alhamdulillah! My semester is officially over! I had submitted my last requirement for graduate school last Saturday. And, I had submitted all my grades the day before yesterday. I can now finally welcome the much needed summer break! Weeee! No, actually, I'm still thinking what to do for summer. Will I handle summer courses? Will I just stay home? Will I travel? Well, the last option sounds great, yes, but I'm not sure I can do that. I have no savings at the moment, that's why! So, I guess traveling has to wait. That leaves me with two options then: to handle summer classes or to stay at home and relax. Truth is I have worked myself to exhaustion and maximum stress level this academic year, especially this semester and I just really feel I need to rest. Also, there were a lot of things and recent changes in my life that almost brought me down. More than any other time, I feel the need to recharge! And, besides, I need to update my notes for my classes, too. Oooh, and the b

A Fresh Start?

Blogging used to be my greatest addiction. I started blogging more than eight years ago and, back in the day, I used to update this blog regularly. My blogging was so regular that it even got to a point when I'd post more than one entry per day. And, my equally blog-addicted blogger friends were not far behind in the regularity of updates and posts! Aaah, those were the good times! The golden days of blogging. Needless to say, I miss those days. I miss blogging every so often and I miss blog-hopping. I miss getting lost in the blog-world and finding some blogs worthy of praise and acclaim, some that are written so well they bring tears to your eyes and make you want to just roll over and die... in a good way, that is! Hehehe:) I want to bring those days back! I want to write more, I want to read more. I want to find treasures in the blog-world once more. I want to tread on grounds made sacred by writers of immaculate and divine words. I want to tread, too, on grounds damned by word

My First Entry for 2012

Happy 2012, everyone! Here's to a better, a greater, a fuller and a more wonderful year for all of us! May God bless us the whole year round! Let's all stay positive! Good vibes, good vibes! :) ------------ So, what's been going on? Well, I certainly hope that all the negativity and bad things end with 2011! Goodbye, negativity! Goodbye, bad vibes! *winks* The year, 2011, ended tragically for some of us here in Mindanao. Typhoon Sendong hit Iligan City and Cagayan de Oro City and some other places, killing hundreds of people, destroying millions worth of property, tearing thousands of families apart, etc. It was on the eve of December 17, 2011. That fateful night. The Sendong Experience I was actually in Cagayan de Oro that night as I was supposed to have classes that Saturday. We got there Friday evening, that's December 16th, and it was raining. It was a cold night, which does not really happen often in Cagayan de Oro, especially from the point of view of one like
