Meow... I'm back!


Assalaamu alaikum wa rahamatullahi wa barakatuhu. (May peace and the blessings of God be with you.)

Wow! I can't believe it! It's been exactly seven months since my last blog entry! I'm not even going to explain why I never got to update you, blog, nor am I going to make another promise to update you more often because I've broken that promise time and again! So, I won't ever promise again so that you won't feel disappointed and neglected, and so that I won't feel frustrated with myself or that I let myself down yet again. Tsk.

Yes, I'm talking to my blog because I don't exactly know where to start. Okay, okay, maybe I could start with what inspired me to blog again. I was talking to a very good friend of mine, Jo Joseph, and he was telling me how he wanted to start a blog. He's quite active in the worldwide web, you see. I encouraged him to do so because, well, from my experience, blogging is fun! So much fun! And, it helps develop the blogger's writing skills, imagination, etc. And, also, it's a good way to find really good friends. At least, in my experience, I met a lot of wonderful people through blogging. Before micro-blogging and all these social networking sites came about, we all connected with one another through blogging. I like the social networking sites, especially Twitter, my favorite, however these actually make me miss writing and reading longer blog entries. Much longer than the 140-character limit that is! So, yeah, I really hope Jo starts his blog soon! I'm already excited to read it! Hehe:-)

Sometimes, I wish I really had more time to spare so I can once again look for blogs that are riveting and really worth reading. Most bloggers I followed in the good ol' days have stopped blogging altogether. But, I am thankful that some have not so that whenever I get the time, I get to check their blogs and read. Thanks, y'all, who have not stopped blogging! I wish I had more time to spare so I, myself, could also keep updating this blog. I wish I had the luxury of time like before. I guess that just means I've somehow grown up? Grown up in such a way that I've become so busy I barely have time to do anything outside my work. Nah, I don't think so! I still have some time to spare despite my busy schedule, really, but these social networking sites (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.) have taken over my blogging and blog-hopping time! Shame! But, I'm trying to get my groove back! This entry is my first step, hopefully! Ooops, no promises!!! Ha! Let's just see where this "blog awakening" leads to. Ha, again! :-P

In other news, today (October 23, 2013) is a very special day! Another very good friend of mine, Tomas, is celebrating his birthday today and I'd like to holler out a resounding "Happy birthday!!!" to him! I'm not sure if he'll get to read this, but if he is, then, there! I want him to know how special he is and how his birthday is worthy of a blog entry! Haha! Love you, Tomas!:-)

Another thing about today is that I've chosen it to be the day to start practicing things I've been meaning to for a while now and also to stop doing some things that I've always wanted to stop doing. Hopefully, things will work out fine for me. The only thing I want to get out of all this is, of course, to be the best version of myself, to be the best that I can be. Isn't that what we all should strive for? I've always said that I do not subscribe to New Year's Resolutions because I am more inclined to the idea of daily resolutions. And, I'd like to make this day my personal "special resolutions day." Join me in this. Think of something that you've always wanted to start doing and decide to start today, and, also, think of something that you've always wanted to stop doing or give up, but you just never got down to giving it up or stopping it, choose today to finally stop or give it up! Let's do this together, shall we? *winks*

As I tweeted and said in my FB status at the start of this day, "Today is a very special day. Bismillahir rahmaanir rahiim." And, it is. It will be. :-)

before i forget, that line of cologne in the collage caught my attention. i love the smell of the pink one though i must say they all smell good.

am i glad to see your update again! in my case, i am trying to be relevant he he by participating in photo memes and writing about love (complicated love, i.e.) and other things. sometimes it is the multitude of things to do that drown the urge. here's wishing that blogging will be as exciting as before.

People don't know that...

...I like guns! I'm not the type who wants to go to war or the type who approves shooting of people or anything, but I have always had this fascination with guns. And, I like them long and big! I love target shooting. I've never really done it in real target shooting ranges, but I've done shooting cans and what-have-yous in private areas/locations. I also enjoy target shooting games at arcades and fairs. There was even this one time my friend and I went to the try-outs for the UP Rifle and Pistol Team just so we could do some shooting. It was really fun and they couldn't believe when I told them that I've actually done some target shooting using real guns back home. One time, my friends and I went to this area near the lake ( Lanao ) for some fun, and one of us had a gun with him, so we started looking for cans to shoot. Ramadhan Kareem...

Yesterday was the first day of Ramadhan . As always, the coming of the Holy Month gave me and continues to give me a certain feeling of contentment and happiness. I always feel that Ramadhan really cleanses my whole being. I don't really know how I can explain this, but Ramadhan has never failed to give me peace of mind. This may be the effect of not thinking any "bad thought" while fasting. It makes me feel good and at peace with the world. I've said this time and again, and I'll say it once more, Ramadhan really brings out the best in me. It just feels so great. I guess I am speaking for every Muslim when I say that I am just so happy that I'm still here to enjoy Ramadhan and that I'm still strong enough to perform the obligatory sacrifice and abstinence during this month. Pamamaalam at Pasasalamat sa Apo...

Paalam is a very sad word. It's the Tagalog word for "goodbye" and, for some reason, I find it waaay sadder than the latter. Two nights ago, the Apo Hiking Society , my all-time favorite Filipino singing group, staged the last of their series of farewell concerts after they decided to disband after 41 years of making great music. The final concert was aptly entitled Paalam nAPO! I wasn't at the concert, not even in the one that was held in Cagayan de Oro. I had to settle for the pictures and videos posted on Facebook and Twitter . I really wanted to watch at least one concert in the series, but time and circumstance weren't on my side. I could've gone to CdO for the concert there, but I had work. I would've wanted to go to Manila and watch the final concert at the Music Museum , but, well, I didn't have that much money. Musicals, Musicals, Musicals and Me

Last weekend, I was in Manila with my good friend/younger brother, Tomas . We went to see the musicals, Fun Home and Wicked . Personally, this is something I have always dreamed of. My Bucket List is full of Broadway and West End musicals I’d love to see before I die. My love for musicals started when I was very young. I wasn’t even in Kindergarten yet when I was introduced to the musicals- Annie , The Sound of Music , and The King and I . They were my favorites when I was small. I knew all the songs from those musicals. While my brothers loved to watch Tom and Jerry and other cartoons, I preferred musicals. Fast forward to a few years later, we were already residing in MSU Campus, I was 9 years old and in 4 th Grade, when my dad rented The Making of Miss Saigon .
